You have direct benefits. When you join DDMS PTA you automatically become a member of the state and national PTA's.¹ Benefit providers include OfficeMax, Sharp, Hertz, and T·Mobile. 

You have access to a wealth of information. Pending legislation and policy, health and nutrition and resources for exceptional children are the kind of information that you will have access to. The parent e-newsletter archives has articles on parenting teens, bullying prevention and the prevention of childhood injuries. 

You have voting rights. All parents are encouraged to attend meetings but only members can vote. In the past, the PTA purchased a sound system for the gym and helped to fund Smart Boards and the school website. With solid parental support, DDMS can reap the benefits of caring parents. 

You will contribute $6 that will go a long way. And this year, everyone who joins will receive a special "thank you" from a local business. (Chik-Fil-A, Great Harvest Bread, Ruckus and Pelicans have been very generous !)
