Mrs. Owens and her family moved to Raleigh from Virginia in 2002. She graduated from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia and has taught science at the middle as well as high school level. As a veteran teacher of seventeen years, she truly enjoys the challenge of teaching today’s youth. As an animal enthusiast, Mrs. Owens has a menagerie of pets: two dogs, five snakes, hedgehog, eastern box turtles, red-eared sliders, frogs, fish, tarantula and two big beautiful draft horses named Sabrina and Manda. Thankfully, her daughter likes animals as well!
